An event has occurred that has not been seen in a generation. London has a Conservative Mayor. Boris Johnson has won by substantial margins Additionally Labour lost 300+ seats in the various councils throughout the UK. Will Prime Minister Brown be next? Time will tell...

On this side of the pond, NY Government seems determined to drive itself over a cliff, taking its unwilling citizens with it....

May 2nd 2008- A rationale

Too much time has went by. As a budding historian, I feel a responsibility to begin recording events. One of our most unbridgeable problems is a lack of primary sources from common people in certain eras. I do this, not just to satisfy an urge, but to ease the path of future historians. I do not presume to be important, just aware.

Unlike many of my peers, whose parents barely remember Vietnam or Kennedy being shot, I am of a bastardized generation, neither GenX nor GenY. My parents are pre-baby boom generation so I grew up with a radically different perspective than my chronological peers. Generationally, my peers are much older than I, or dead, with few exceptions.

Chronologically, I am of the last generation that remembers the Berlin Wall even vaguely, or 9/11 with any clarity. Yet the further we get from that date, the more likely an attack is to occur. We've ducked God knows how many bullets, yet you never hear the one that gets you.

Politically, we are being forced to decide between Pyrite and Quartz. One is a farce, the other merely somewhat useful....

Stay tuned.
